Latest Update on Bali Requirements (JAN 14 2024 update) – tourists tax from Feb 14 2024

April 3, 2022

🚨 3 DOCUMENTS THAT YOU MUST BRING WITH YOU AND SHOW AT CHECK-IN:

  • 1 – Passports must have a least a minimum of 6 months validity and 2 blank pages. (Same than before 2020)
  • 2 – Travelers must have a return flight ticket, or a paid outward flight from Bali. (Same than before 2020)
  • 3 – Travelers must be able to prove accommodation booking

💻 3 STEPS THAT YOU HAVE TO COMPLETE (can be done on arrival but you will save LOTS of time doing it before hand):

✈️👮‍♀️ As of Nov 5 you can buy your 500 000 IDR VISA On ARRIVAL (VOA) on the immigration website and avoid having to queue to get it at the Airport, if you hold a Visa from eligible countries. We advise doing it on: https://molina.imigrasi.go.id/ You will need your passport details, flight number to DPS, arrival date, a valid email address and a credit card.

📍Either print the .pdf document that will be sent to you after payment (with your picture on it) or keep a screenshot on your phone👮

✈️✈️🛃 Customs declarations HAVE to be made online here : https://ecd.beacukai.go.id/ this has to be done no earlier than 48 hours before arrival and can be done at the airport from your phone if you have datas or can connect to the internet WIFI, or from one of the computers that the airport give access to (usually involves queuing). You will need your passport details, flight number to DPS and arrival date.
📍📍 Either print the QR code or keep a screenshot on your phone 🛃

✈️✈️✈️🏖️ Tourism Tax. From Feb 14 2024 Bali Province is collecting a mandatory 150 000 IDR per person upon arriving in Bali. To avoid queuing we strongly recommend paying the tax and getting the “LEVY VOUCHER” (by email) here : https://lovebali.baliprov.go.id/ You will need your passport details and arrival date, a valid email address and a credit card.

📍📍📍Either print the Levy Voucher or keep a screenshot on your phone (make sure that your phone will be sufficiently charged on arrival) 🏖️

💡We kindly advise to print all the documents in case your phone has connection or battery issues.

💡💡Although it’s not mandatory we STRONGLY advise purchasing travel insurance for the duration of your stay as medical costs for foreign nationals are high in Indonesia.

💡💡💡Due to recent disrespectful behaviours from a few tourists, Bali has implemented a list of “DO and DON’T”, you might be asked to scan them with your phone at the airport (the system is still being tested).

✈️✈️✈️ STEP BY STEP AT BALI AIRPORT (1 mandatory online custom form to fill):

🔹 If you have not bought your Visa online (https://molina.imigrasi.go.id/) proceed to the Visa On Arrival counters if your passport is from these 🔗 92 countries🔗, unless you have passports from Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand or Vietnam, then you don’t need a Visa.

🔹 While you wait please fill the form online :
https://ecd.beacukai.go.id/
📍 Either print the QR code or keep a screenshot on your phone.

  • VOA-Visa on Arrival costs IDR 500.000 per person (same price for adults and children).
  • VOA-Visa on Arrival is for a single entry into Bali for a stay up to 30 days (and will be valid for all of Indonesia). Payment can be done by: VISA , MasterCard or Cash in IDR. It’s around 35 USD. There’s a 3% extra fee for Credi Card

🔹 Then you’ll clear immigration, get your luggages and go through customs.
For custom make sure you have completed the form online :
https://ecd.beacukai.go.id/
📍 Either print the QR code or keep a screenshot on your phone.

🔹 Due to recent disrespectful behaviours from certain tourists Bali has implemented a list of “DO and DON’T”, you might be ask to read them and scan them with your phone at the airport (the system is still being tested).

🔹 The Tourism Tax will be implemented from Feb 14 2024, and the check points where you will be asked to scan your levy voucher have not been announced yet.

📶 If you plan to use a local Sim Card for data or calls and / or stay longer than 1 month you need to register your phone BEFORE going through customs : https://www.beacukai.go.id/imei (declare a value of less than 500 USD) and show the resulting QR code to a Custom Officer so he can validate your device.

🕛 From experience, the whole procedure takes around 1 hour, and it depends on how many flights landed at the same time.

🕛🕛 If you’re traveling with young children, pregnant women or seniors approach an officer, they will take you to a priority lane.

🕛 🕛 🕛 If it’s busy when you arrive and you don’t want to spend too much time, you will be approached by people offering “‘express / fast track” service, you can negotiate with them a fee around 500 000 IDR (35 USD) in cash to skip the line.s (Visa on Arrival buying / Immigration). Exercise some amount of caution, only pay after getting your passport back with the entry stamp (check the date) and visa, it’s a gray area but a usually safe one.

⏩⏩⏩⏩ If you want to pre-book an immigration fast track service (only for our guests) please contact our reservation department for details. This is not always available. [email protected]⏩⏩⏩⏩
